PRINCIPLES OF FERRO & FERRO

Ferro & Ferro applies the principles and criteria of good corporate governance, based on the documents approved and in force of the IoD – Institute of Directors of Mozambique.

In its daily activity, Ferro & Ferro defends:

·  Transparency
·  Honesty
·  Seriousness
·  Rigour
·  Professionalism

Ferro & Ferro condemns all practices that demonstrate or give reasons to suspect acts of corruption, illicit enrichment, manipulation of information and trafficking in influence.

In day-to-day management, Ferro & Ferro observes:

the principle of transparency: this refers to the rules and regulations which guide the decisions taken and how their implementation is monitored, bearing in mind that (credible) information should be made available to all individuals and bodies affected by decisions and their monitoring.
the principle of participation: this refers to the equal participation that men and women should exercise in activities of governance, covering direct or indirect participation through institutions or legitimate representatives, in a framework of freedom of expression and of association in organized civil society.
the principle of responsibility: this refers to the design of structures of governance such that all the people affected by company decisions should be treated on a footing of equality and without any discrimination.
the principle of effectiveness: this refers to the production of results which are in accordance with the best possible use of the resources mobilized and with the needs of the beneficiaries of companies, including environmental protection and the use of resources in a sustainable manner.
the principle of coherence: this refers to the search for consensus in social relations, such that the various interests at stake can be mediated, in a framework of harmony and coherence, concerning the best options to take, bearing in mind a long term perspective that seeks sustainable human development.

In its daily practice, Ferro & Ferro pays attention to the themes of internal control, performance assessment and risk management, as fundamental areas for security and institutional credibility towards the market, seeking to obtain economic, social and environmental goals.

Ferro & Ferro practices the monist model, which is characterized by the existence of a single administrative body, with a separation between operational management and strategic administration, taking into account the notions of shareholders and stakeholders in prioritising defence of the interests of the company’s partners, and of all those who are affected by the repercussions of companies on the surrounding environment.

Ferro & Ferro accepts and demands compliance with norms in the following areas:

1. HEALTH
2. HEALTHY PRACTICES
3. EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
4. SAFETY AT WORK
5. SOCIAL SECURITY
6. THE ENVIRONMENT
